Phone Apps for Improved Wellness

Technology has changed the way we communicate, work, and enjoy entertainment. The Internet, smartphones, and many other digital products have provided us with easy access to an overwhelming amount of information about any and every subject we can think of. Specifically, phones have become one of the major ways we take advantage of technology to make our lives easier. With apps for just about anything, our phones allow us to manage bank accounts, read books, play games, and share photos in a matter of seconds. If wellness is your goal, that are plenty of apps available on your phone to help.

Weight Loss Apps

Are you struggling with weight loss, gain or management? There are apps that allow you to enter your weight, height, age, exercise level and other information to find out how much you should eat every day depending on your goal. These apps also scan barcodes or you can manually enter the food you’ve eaten. This information is kept in a food log which keeps track of the amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrates you consume.

Exercise Apps

Need to exercise but don’t feel like you have the time or don’t know where to start? There are plenty of apps that allow you to set the amount of time and intensity for your workouts. You can also find apps that show you the correct form for exercises to avoid injuries. If you need help tracking your workouts, there are apps for that too. Most smartphones already include apps that will track running or walking.

Mental Health Apps

Whether you’re feeling stressed or depressed because of your work or personal life, there are apps that can help. Therapist apps connect people who are suffering from depression and anxiety with trained counselors.

Sleep Apps

If you’re having trouble sleeping, there are apps to provide a better atmosphere for sleeping. Some apps provide calming sounds while others track your movement while you sleep. With the sleep sound apps, you can choose from soothing noises like distant rain, ocean waves, and the rainforest. The apps that track our sleeping patterns can be used to help diagnose a sleeping disorder.

Organization Apps

Trying to keep up with your responsibilities can be stressful but there are great apps to make it easier. Set reminders for important activities that have to be completed the same day and use the calendar app for future plans. There are also to-do list apps so that you can easily keep track of your duties.
